Needs
As part of its exemplary approach and to serve as a showcase, Getelec Collectivités Martinique wanted to conduct their own energy accounting to optimize their:
Global energy expenses
16 900 €/year
(or 96 836 kWh/year)
Vehicle
fleet’s gas consumption
22 013 €/year (or 12 727 L/year).
Solutions
Energaya studied the possibility to build and use photovoltaics as a private energy source, through a feasibility study, an improvement program, and an economic report
Step 1: Feasibility study
Energaya analyzed the company’s avenues to build and exploit a photovoltaics power station on Getelec Collectivités site.
Step 2: Improvement program and economic report
Build a photovoltaic power station
To reduce the site’s energy spendings.
Cost: 219 885 €
Savings: 59.75 % of the current energy spendings, taking into account future electric vehicle charging needs.
Emissions avoided : 28 tons/year of CO2 (-59.75 %)
Installation of backup batteries
To provide 3–5 hours of power in the event of an electricity outage.
Cost: 65 000 €
Installation of 8 charging points for company electric vehicles
To reduce fuel costs by using the solar photovoltaic energy generated on-site.
Cost: 9 500 €
Installation of a Building Management System (BMS)
To monitor and manage the solar photovoltaic plant along with the charging stations.
